Book Summary A secret kingdom of trolls, and their legendary gold, lies in the mysterious shadows of Troll Fell. Peer's evil uncles plan to sell children to the trolls, and only Peer and his friend Hilde stand in their way. Ages approx. Troll Fell strikes me as a sort of Cinderella story for boys the difference in Troll Fell is that while there are magical/mythological elements, the main focus of the story isn't magical as has been the case in many books I've read of late. Troll Fell does have is that classical element of a orphaned child in a miserable situation/5(5). Book Overview A secret kingdom of trolls, guarding their legendary gold, lies in the mysterious shadows of Troll Fell. It is to this eerie and dangerous place that Peer Ulfsson must go after his father's sudden death, to live with his greedy, bad-tempered uncles, Baldur and Grim.5/5(5). Troll Fell, the first book in the Troll Trilogy by Katherine Langrish, has all the ingredients for being an awesome fantasy series. There’s a simple plot filled with exciting action, memorable characters (including two near-perfect MCs, Peer and Hilde) a good dose of mythology and folklore, and a great ending/5(5).
Book review Troll Fell by Katherine Langrish () Part one of the Troll trilogy T his is a story about someone who has to be brave and clever and resourceful. The Story The Folklore Overview When young Peer Ulfsson's father dies, his life changes forever. Claimed by his mean-spirited uncles, the Grimssons, he is treated like a slave at their ramshackle mill on the slopes of dark and mysterious Troll Fell. Bearing all the markings of a truely classic novel, Troll Fell, is an exciting adventure-filled tale of Peer, his evil uncles, treasure and wicked trolls. Peer Ulfsson stood miserably at his father's funeral pyre, watching the sparks whirl up like millions of shining spirits streaking away into the dark/5(13).
